Drive Charge Eat is built to plan EV road trips with as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect. The English version is authoritative.
No account, no tracking
Drive Charge Eat works without an account or sign-up. We do not run third-party advertising networks or cross-app tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your personal data.
Location
When you grant permission, your location is used on your device to plan routes and find nearby chargers. It is not sold and is not stored on our servers.
Charging, place and weather data
Charger, route, place and weather information comes from third-party services: OpenChargeMap, OpenStreetMap, Apple Maps, Apple Weather (WeatherKit) and Google (routes, places and live charger availability). Google is used on every trip you plan — it is not optional. The requests needed to show this data are sent to those providers under their own privacy policies.
Our own servers
Some of those requests pass through our own proxy servers rather than leaving your phone directly. They run on Fly.io in Paris, France for trips in Europe, Africa and Asia, and in Virginia, United States for trips in North America. Which one answers is decided by the coordinates being looked up, never by your device, language or account. These servers hold nothing about you: they forward the query, keep the answer in memory briefly so that repeating the same lookup costs nothing, and write no profile, account or trip history to disk.
Transfers outside your country
Because those servers sit in France and the United States, and because Apple and Google operate globally, a lookup you make can be processed outside the country you are in. What travels is a coordinate and a search term with no account, name or device identifier attached. Transfers to the United States rely on the mechanisms published by those providers, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregated purchase and subscription-status information.
Diagnostics
If you choose to share logs for support, they may contain technical details about a trip. Sharing them is entirely your choice.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
Your data rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing or request portability. Because your trips and preferences live on your device, most of this is already in your hands; for anything we hold, email hello@drivechargeeat.com.
Who is responsible & how to complain
The data controller is LyteFast, a French société par actions simplifiée with its registered office at 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France (RCS Paris 988 054 227) — hello@drivechargeeat.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority; in France that is the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Anonymized requests & data sources
Requests to third-party services are anonymized — no account, name or device identifier is attached — and are not retained, so no personal data is transferred to them.
