Our own servers

Some of those requests pass through our own proxy servers rather than leaving yer phone directly. They run on Fly.io in Paris, France for trips in Europe, Africa as Asia, as in Virginia, United States for trips in North America. Which one answers is decided by ta coordinates being looked up, never by yer device, language or account. These servers hold nothing about ye: they forward ta query, keep ta answer in memory briefly so that repeating ta same lookup costs nothing, as write no profile, account or trip history t'ra disk.

Transfers outside yer country

Because those servers sit in France as ta United States, as because Apple as Google operate globally, a lookup ye make can be processed outside ta country ye are in. What travels is a coordinate as a search term with no account, name or device identifier attached. Transfers t'ra ta United States rely on ta mechanisms published by those providers, such as ta EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
