An EV route planner that plans the whole stop
Most route planners answer one question: can this car reach that point. Drive Charge Eat answers the question drivers actually have on a long trip — where should I stop, for how long, and is it somewhere I want to spend twenty-five minutes.
Range from your car, not from a brochure
You set your model once and routing works from its real-world consumption, adjusted for the temperature on the day and the elevation of the road ahead. A cold motorway climb and a mild valley run are not the same kilometres, and a planner that treats them as equal is the reason plans fall apart on the second leg.
Charging speed that tapers, like the real thing
Charging slows sharply as the battery fills, so the planner models the curve instead of assuming a flat rate. That is why it usually prefers two short charges over one long one: the ten-to-eighty stretch is where a fast charger is actually fast, and time spent above eighty percent buys very few kilometres.
A reserve you choose, at two different points
You set the minimum charge you want to arrive at a charging stop with, and separately the minimum you want left at your final destination. They are different promises: the first is a safety margin between charges, the second is how much range you want in hand when you get there — which is your call, not a fixed number.
Re-planning while you drive
If you leave the route, if a stop turns out to be full, or if the live projection says you would arrive below your reserve, the trip is re-planned from where you are and from the charge you actually have. Your destination and waypoints are kept; only the stops change.
Fewer stops, chosen together
Stops are not picked one at a time. The planner evaluates the sequence, because the best first stop is the one that makes the second stop good — charging a little longer early can remove a stop later, and stopping too early wastes the fast part of the curve. It also weighs how far a candidate sits off the route: a charger two minutes away that has food usually beats one on the shoulder that has nothing.
Where the data comes from
Charging data comes from OpenChargeMap, OpenStreetMap and Apple Maps, with Google available as an extra source. It is open data, which means it is broad but not perfect: always confirm a charger's status when you arrive. The app is a planning tool, not a substitute for what you can see.
